Five years in the making, The Main Cup, in Middletown, finally opened for business last winter. In addition to a surprisingly good lunch menu (which features, among other things, a seared ahi tuna sandwich), TMC sells fresh-squeezed lemonade, locally-roasted coffee, and a variety of sodas, juices, and teas. Other goodies: free wireless internet access, loads of comfy seats, and convenient parking in the rear.
As of this Thursday (9/27), not only will the back dining room and patio become full-service areas; beer, wine, and liquor will be sold back there as well. They’ve nearly finished building out the bar in the back dining room and plan to broadcast sporting events in there from time to time.
The front rooms will continue to have counter service.
If you’re going to be in town this weekend for Middletown’s 23rd Annual Heritage Days Festival, be sure to check out The Main Cup. They’ll be serving alcohol, but you can’t take it out of the building.
